How does SpraySafe work? The very small concentrate of the naturally occurring Hypochlorous Acid suspended in water has the ability to attach its self to the cell walls of bacteria and then punch through using the power of oxygen when the solution oxidises. The acid molecule then neutralises the DNA within killing the virus or cell nucleus of the bacteria cell. All without any harmful effects to humans, animals or the environment compared to many traditional disinfectants and sanitisers.

Can Spraysafe be used on skin? Will it damage my skin? The key ingredient HOCl is actually produced by our immune system, active in our white blood cells to protect against germs and heal wounds or cuts. One of the key advantages of HOCl is its gentle soothing and calming properties. It helps alleviate redness, itching, and inflammation associated with skin conditions like acne, rosacea, dermatitis, and sunburns. It achieves this by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines and modulating the immune response, leading to a healthier and more balanced complexion.
-

What is the shelf life of Spraysafe?SpraySafe Shelf Life Unopened Bottles: The product maintains its stability for up to 12 months when sealed and stored under normal conditions. Opened Bottles: Once opened, the formula should ideally be used within 3 months to ensure maximum effectiveness. Note: if you use SpraySafe after these dates it may not be as effective HOCl Degradation Over Time: The stability of HOCl formulas diminish gradually, with pH levels normalising as time passes. Travel, temperatures above 25°C, exposure to air and UV can accelerate the degradation process, impacting the effectiveness of the solution. Hence why having a local product gives you the best quality. Increasing concentration is often used in other products to counteract lack of stability.
-
What is the PH of SpraySafe?SpraySafe's pH level is between 5.0–6.5, making it a very weak acid. Effectively pH neutral, however the pH in the HOCI formula is maintained to maximize its antimicrobial properties. SpraySafe Hypochlorous Acid Water: pH 5.0–6.5 Skin: pH 5.2–5.7 NZ Drinking Water Standard: pH 7.0–8.5 Typical Swimming Pool pH: 7.2–7.8
-
What is PPM?PPM stands for "Parts Per Million" and is a unit used to measure the concentration of a substance in a solution. In HOCl water, it quantifies the amount of chlorine-based active ingredients relative to the total volume. Hypochlorous Acid Water is effective from a very low parts per million concentration, 10-30ppm. The product does not require high PPM. Products that do are not producing a stable solution. A stable solution requires precise chemistry & technology. Stability is affected overtime & through changes in temperature (travel). Therefore a local product is beneficial. PPM is just one piece of the puzzle in creating a safe, effective HOCl solution. In reality, it’s the interplay between PPM, pH, chlorine levels, and stability that ensures your skin gets the very best.
-

One of your warnings says ‘do not transfer contents’, but how does the refill work then?Good question, the idea is to refill your spray bottles + 30ml travel bottle! We do not recommend putting into any different containers as it may affect the potency and shelf life. Our bottles are designed to keep out UV and limit exposure to air as these expedite the degradation of the formula, affecting its stability and making it less effective.
-
One of your warnings says ‘may tarnish aluminum product’ what does this mean?Acid can dull aluminum. Any products that have aluminum in their composition, the HOCl may cause it to discolour- there is no other reaction. Note: Some make up products have aluminum powder in the ingredients
